Viktig og riktig avgjørelse i CAMO-saken

 

Som vi har skrevet om tidligere, har forbundet jobbet med å begrense en regelverksendring av Part-CAMO, som kunne medføre at ansvaret for den tekniske oppfølgingen av helikoptrene som flyr offshore og i sivil redningstjeneste ville kunne overføres til utenlandske aktører langt fra Nordsjøen og helt uten helikoptererfaring. Det nye regelverket utarbeidet av EASA, åpnet nemlig for at helikopterselskaper i konsernforhold ikke lenger skulle ha krav om en intern teknisk avdeling (CAMO) for oppfølging av luftdyktighet.

 

Etter snart to års arbeid med saken fikk vi denne uken endelig beskjed om at norske myndigheter har vedtatt at regelverket bare skal innføres for flyselskaper, og dermed ikke gjelder for norske helikopterselskaper. Dette er en svært viktig og riktig avgjørelse for å ivareta flysikkerhetsnivået i bransjen og landets totalberedskap.

 

I den forbindelse ønsker vi å takke alle aktører som har bidratt med å belyse saken gjennom høringssvar og møter, og samtidig rette en stor takk til norske myndigheter som har vist stor forståelse i en så viktig og komplisert sak.

 

Siden endringen ikke er tatt inn i EØS-avtalen, vil vi fortsatt følge opp saken videre.
